November in Review: A Month Full of New Experiences, Renovation, and Holiday Cheer!

Petit Mas de Rêve

November was a month to remember! We kicked it off by attending the 48th edition of Les 2 Jours de Montcuq, an iconic annual horseback riding competition held in the charming village of Montcuq. During this event, riders and their horses cover a challenging distance of 200 kilometers over two days through the beautiful French countryside. The atmosphere, the athletic achievement, and the stunning surroundings made it a truly unique experience and a perfect way to get to know our new area.

In addition to exploring, November was packed with practical tasks. We dove into the infamous French paperwork, both for personal needs and for our business. This included applying for French license plates, phone numbers, a Carte Vitale, and the necessary permits for our company. It wasn’t always easy, but we’re making steady progress!

We also hit the ground running with our renovation projects. We started working on the swimming pool, cleared out bamboo, and did a lot of pruning. Around the house, we made several changes to make it more comfortable, such as installing new lights, a mailbox, and hanging up some cozy frames.

In between all the work, we took the time to explore our new surroundings. We visited charming local markets and hunted for the stores we need. It’s a bit different from Belgium, but it’s been so much fun discovering everything!

By the end of November, the holiday spirit took over, and we began making the house Christmas-ready. The decorations instantly brought warmth and cheer to our home.

To top it all off, we launched our very own YouTube channel! Want to see more of our journey? Be sure to follow us there for updates and fun videos!

Here’s to more adventures in December!
