December was an exciting and productive month! We dove headfirst into the renovation of our gîte, starting by removing everything from the old cupboard doors and curtains to the carpet that had seen better days. Our main focus was on getting one room ready as we were expecting guests by the end of the month.
The renovation process began with sanding the walls, removing old glue residues from the floor, and filling in any imperfections. It was a lot of hard work, but seeing the progress was incredibly rewarding.
Early in December, amidst all the renovation chaos, we welcomed a new resident to our home—our cat Cleo! She quickly became part of the family and brought a lot of joy and companionship.
We managed to paint the first room and lay down new flooring just in time for the arrival of Sandra’s parents, who came to spend the holidays with us. Even though we were hosting, the work didn’t stop. We continued by painting the other rooms in the gîte and tackled some outdoor projects, including the removal of ten large fir trees from the garden.
Despite the ongoing renovations, we made sure to take time to enjoy the festive season. We visited local markets, explored the impressive Château de Biron, and celebrated Christmas and New Year’s Eve together. It was wonderful to have family around and to share these special moments.
On another exciting note, our YouTube channel saw significant growth—we reached an amazing milestone of 300 followers! We’re incredibly grateful for the support and can’t wait to continue sharing our journey with everyone.
December was a month filled with hard work, new beginnings, and joyful celebrations. Here’s to even more adventures and progress in the new year!
